ATC 810 Flight Simulator Training at YVR AirportGeneral InformationWe are pleased to offer instrument/multi engine procedures training on our ATC 810 flight simulators at our training centre at YVR airport. We also offer solo rental of our sim for those wishing to practise their flying skills and instrument procedures on their own (for solo rentals, we do the set up/pre-flight configurations for the area of your choice for no additional charge so that you can focus on practicing your IFR flying skills). In addition to offering training covering all standard instrument flight procedures, we also provide multi-engine SOPs training and emergency procedures training. Our ATC-810 sims offer HSI, RMI, ILS, VOR and DME along with variable scale plotter (so that you can complete published IFR approach procedures directly off the approach plate). In addition to instrument approaches and enroute NAVAIDs for the Vancouver area, our simulators offer additional EPROM maps for training at Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Washington State USA and JFK/New York USA. Given that the ATC-810 is a standard IFR sim used in IFR training programmes at many training locations in Canada, it continues to offer an excellent platform to learn IFR skills with a quality emulation of handling and performance characteristics of turbo-charged cabin class twins in the 6,500 lbs - 8,000 lbs TOGW range (e.g. Cessna 400 series, Piper Navajo and Beech Duke).
Our training rate for our ATC 810's is only $50.00 per hour dual and $25.00 per hour solo, with no additional charges for pre and post flight briefings and/or simulator trip set-up and configurations (taxes are extra: GST only for dual, GST and PST for solo). We also provide optional Morse Code instruction: think about it - how many pilots do you know that can actually identify NAVAIDS based on knowing the code rather than having to "look up" each NAVAID's Morse ident?!! Train with us and you can be one of those few, superior pilots that actually knows the code. In addition to IFR procedures training based on standard Nav Canada format IAP's, we also offer USA IFR approach procedures instruction based on Jeppesen and US government charts. In many cases current IAP's (Nav Canada, Jeppesen, NOAA) can be used for several of the airports in our sim EPROM databases (see below for available airports). And even if you have an IFR rating, how sharp are your IFR skills? It is always useful to conduct refresher/recurrency IFR and emergency procedures training and our sim is perfect for this purpose.
To arrange a booking, call us at 604-279-0179 or drop by our training centre. Our YVR airport training centre is conveniently located near the main terminal at YVR airport at Unit 130 - 5980 Miller Road (in the vicinity of the Air Canada hangars; we are located directly beside the Air Canada Pilot's Association offices - click here for a local map).
