APR Douglas Protractor
APR's Douglas Protractor is perfect for measuring tracks from standard VNC/WAC charts. The benefit to using the Douglas Protractor for measuring tracks is that once the user aligns the "N" on the protractor with North, and by placing the grommit (centre hole) over the midpoint of track, user error is vastly reduced because the actual track is simply read off the protractor. Other types of protractors are inferior, in our

Jeppesen Folding Plotter/Chart Rule
Jeppesen's 3-part folding plotter is perfect for VFR flight planning becauses it permits drawing long tracks (the plotter folds out to approx. 15") and it can be used to measure distance for standard VFR scale charts. The "see-through" feature of this plotter makes it a superb plotter because you won't block out critical navigation data while drawing and measuring tracks (as compared to cheaper, solid plastic/opaque type plotters). As well this plotter is easy to use because it does not have the bizarre, rotating azimuth or semi-circular protractor attachment as is unfortunately found with many plotters.
